Sir,
Sub: Problems and suitable solutions to control air pollution

Air pollution is becoming an uncontrollable menace day by day. On behalf of many chennaites I would like to list below the various problems caused by air pollution and also solutions to discuss the same.

First and foremost the amount of poisonous gases released by various vehicles has increased the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere. Due to this people suffer from various health problems like asthma ,etc Next the poisonous industrial effluents released from factories .has caused further pollution in air as well as in water. This has led to an increase in levels of CO and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Next burning of wastes and plastics in public places has also found to release undesirable amount of poisonous gases like sulphur dioxide in the amosphere.Next , one of the most important problems faced by us is generally swept under the carpet.Urbanisation and industrialization has led to deforestation. As a result the amount of carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere is not getting reduced and hence people keep suffering from various health problems. Coming to solutions awareness has to be created on the benefits of using public transport and carpooling. This will reduce the gases released from the exhaust of cars and other vehicles. Next, burning of wastes in public places has to be completely stopped.. Next afforestation has to be encouraged. Smoking in public places has to be prohibited. Last but not the least government has to play a very important role to make it mandatory for all vehicles to undergo emission tests.

I hope this will serve as an eye opener for the government as well as the common people on the whole to release the growing menaces of air pollution and also take steps to control it.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
Santosh
